# Working with Segments

[Segments](https://docs.zineone.com/docs/concepts-and-components#segments) group your customers based on given criteria like activity pattern, user attributes, etc. Businesses use segments to target a set of customers with messages that are most relevant for a particular customer segment.

You can segment your customers based on their:

* Device attributes
* Demographic attributes
